Cancer Registries for Cancer Action
The 37th Annual meeting was held at the Taj Mahal Palace hotel in Mumbai (India) from 7 to 10 October 2015.
Hosted in conjunction with the Tata Memorial Centre, the conference offered a high-quality scientific meeting that provided an optimum forum for learning and exchanging ideas as well as the dissemination of timely, accurate and essential information for professionals involved with the international cancer registration and surveillance community.
The main theme of the meeting was Cancer Registries for Cancer Action.
The program included:
- 1 Clemmensen Lecture by Dr Nubia Munoz (Former Unit Chief at the International Agency for Research on Cancer, France)
- 6 Keynote addresses from: Dr Rajendra Badwe (Tata Memorial Centre, India); Dr Ambakumar Nandakumar (National Cancer Registry Programme of India); Dr Suleeporn Sangrajrang (National Cancer Institute, Thailand); Dr Mona Saraiya (CDC, USA); Dr Matti Hakama (Finnish Cancer Registry, Finland); Dr Tomohiro Matsuda (National Cancer Centre, Japan)

- 100 Poster Presentations
THE CLEMMESEN LECTURE
The 4th Johannes Clemmesen Lecture was delivered by Nubia Muñoz.
THE ENRICO ANGLESIO PRIZE
The 6th prize was awarded to Hanna Tervonen from Adelaide (Australia) for her presentation on the study: "Cancer survival and summary stage among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in NSW".
Poster prizes went to (1st Place) Mr Sampath Pitchaimuthu for the poster entitled "Cancer Unknown Primary (CUP): Trends and Association with Registration Practices in Chennai, 1982-2011"; (2nd Place) Dr Young-Joo for the poster entitled "Screening as a cause of Thyroid Cancer Epidemic in Korea"; and (3rd Place) Dr Snehal Shah for the poster entitled "Quality Control in Oral Cancer Screening Trial in Rural India".
