The 36th Annual Meeting was held in Ottawa (Canada) in June 2014 in conjunction with the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR).
The main theme of the meeting was Capitalizing on Cancer Surveillance Data for Improved Cancer Control.
IACR and NAACCR co-hosted an unprecedented educational opportunity by bringing together the world leaders in cancer surveillance for a week-long symposium which combined the NAACCR and IACR annual conferences. The Conference was developed by and for cancer surveillance professionals to learn about the latest trends, acquire new skills, share research findings, improve public health, and support a variety of cancer research endeavors.
THE CLEMMESEN LECTURE
The third Johannes Clemmesen Lecture was delivered by Pierre Band.
THE ENRICO ANGLESIO PRIZE
The award ceremony took place at the end of the IACR conference.The 5th prize was awarded to Clara Castro from Porto (Portugal) for her presentation of the study: "Predicting cancer incidence in the north of Portugal for the years 2013, 2015 and 2020".
