The International Association of Cancer Registries (IACR) will hold its 21st Annual Conference in Lisbon, Portugal, on 29 September to 1 October 1999. The programme topics are: - Screening in relation to cancer registries - Tobacco and young people - Quality control in cancer registries - Trends in cancer/cancer mapping - Genetic epidemiology/cancer registries and familial cancer The anticipated 350 participants will include epidemiologists, geneticists, tumor registrars and administrators of cancer registries from around the world. The conference will be held at Torre do Tombo, the Portuguese Historical Archives headquarters, centrally located near the University of Lisbon and displaying all Congress convenience facilities. Torre do Tombo is easily reached by underground or other urban transport from all over the city. The official conference language is English.
