The International Association of Cancer Registries will become affiliated to two scientific journals from 1 January 2002 - the European Journal of Cancer Prevention (EJCP) and the Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer prevention (APJCP).

Both journals have accepted an Associate IACR editor on the board, whose role will be to promote the publication of cancer registry articles, and to encourage members to submit papers.

With its fast publication of the latest developments and discoveries in this important field of medicine, the European Journal of Cancer Prevention aims to promote an increased awareness of all aspects of cancer prevention and to stimulate new ideas and innovations. The journal has a wide-ranging scope, covering such aspects as descriptive and metabolic epidemiology, histopathology, genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, clinical medicine, intervention trials and public education, basic laboratory studies and special group studies. Although affiliated to a European organization, the journal addresses issues of international importance.

The aim of the Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention is to promote increased awareness and knowledge in all areas of cancer prevention and to stimulate collaborative efforts and practical intervention approaches in the different countries and states of the Asian Pacific region.

An additional benefit is the offer of a reduced-price subscription to IACR members:

The EJCP is offering a 25% discount on the individual rate of US $216. This will be US $ 162 plus $7 handling fee and an additional US $6 airfreight delivery charge for members outside the European Union.

The APJCP is offering a reduction of 30%, from US $100 to US $70.

A circular about the affiliations has been sent to all IACR members. If you are interested in a subscription to either or both of these journals and prefer to let us know by e-mail you can use the attached form and return it to iacr@iarc.fr
