The scientific meetings are held in a different region of the world each year, with specific themes. They offer a unique opportunity for cancer registries' members of that region to meet and discuss their achievements and their concerns in a friendly atmosphere. Eminent keynote speakers are invited to lead the sessions, and training is  available  through a number of workshops.  About 200 to 300 participants take part each year.

IACR members are also encouraged to attend meetings led by other cancer networks and  institutes, which are held throughout the year .
