Dear friends,
Cancer registration serves a wide range
of target groups, from individuals and society all the way to science
- ultimately, again serving individuals and society. Also, the sciences
range from biological microcosmoses to social macroissues.
Cancer registries can learn
quite a bit from each other and from the representatives of the nearby sciences.
A good forum for this has been the Annual Meeting of the International
Association of Cancer Registries that next year will be held in Tampere, Finland.
The general themes and the pre-congress courses chosen for the meeting are some of
the most pertinent ones in cancer registration. The meeting also coincides with the
50-year anniversary of the hosting institute, the Finnish Cancer Registry.
We, the hosts, will do our best to guarantee that the congress will be a
stimulating and successful event for every participant, and that you will
have an enjoyable stay in our country.
