IACR ELECTIONS

The IACR elections to replace the President, the General Secretary and five Regional Representatives in Asia, Africa, North America, Europe and Oceania) are now closed. A total of 75 members voted out of 292 voting members (participation 26 %).

The results that will take effect on 16 November are as follows:

We expect to continue the previous work of the Regional Representatives and also bring new ideas for the forthcoming activities of IACR.

For those who are outgoing we would like to thank you, and especially Dr Timo Hakulinen, who, as General Secretary was always very helpful and a good adviser for IACR during his mandate.

Special thanks to all the regional representatives for their successful interactive work with the cancer registries in their area: Dr Moussa Koulibaly (Africa), Dr Midori Soda (Asia), Dr David Brewster (Europe), Dr Heather Bryant (North America) and Dr Paul Jelfs (Oceania) for their contribution in the work of the Association during their years of office.

Thanks to Dr Max Parkin for his continuous efforts as outgoing IACR President to further develop the aims of the Association and stimulate the existence of cancer registration all over the world. He will remain on the Executive Board as immediate Past President for the next four years
