CanReg4 is a configurable computer program designed for cancer registration in population-based registries.


This version was released in 2001 and is now used in 140 registries in 75 countries. Training courses have been held around the world in the use of the program and in coding in the third edition of the International Classification of Diseases for Oncology (ICDO-3).

The Program’s Data-Entry module provides consistency checking for impossible / rare cases, search for duplicate records / multiple primaries using probability matching, and conversion from one classification system to another.  Easy-to-use analysis options include Frequency distributions, Reports, Incidence tables and an interface into EpiInfo6.  It can be used in a Windows-based network environment.
CanReg4 is provided as a service by the Descriptive Epidemiology Unit to members of the International Association of Cancer Registries.

Already available in English, Spanish, French, Italian, Turkish, Chinese, Thai, Arabic and Farsi.

- Download the CR4-inst.zip to a temporary directory.
- Double click on the file CR4-inst.zip to extract the necessary files. To do this you must have
WINZIP or some other unzipping program installed on your computer.
- After unzipping CR4-inst.zip follow the installation instructions on the 'Word' document contained therein.
